MANHATTAN Introduces iPad Pouches

MANHATTAN recently introduced three new portable PC sleeves to its accessory line designed to fit the popular new Apple iPad and other portable PCs and tablets with screens up to 24.5 cm (9.7 in.). Constructed of durable, cushioned fabric, each MANHATTAN iPad Pouch stretches to provide snug protection for iPads, digital readers and other tablets against common, everyday mishandling. Slip inside a briefcase or tuck under the arm and easily carry an iPad or tablet between meetings or from room to room. The reversible, 2-color design available in 3 combinations coordinates with the iPad exterior which resembles an enlarged iPhone with a touchscreen measuring 24.5 cm (9.7 in.). According to reports on May 31, 2010, Apple has sold 2,000,000 units since the new touchscreen device was launched in the US nearly 2 months ago.
  • 50,000 iPads were sold in the first 2 hours in the US
  • 1 million iPads were sold in a month – it took 74 days to sell 1 million iPhones in 2007
  • iPad US sales have outpaced those of the Mac
  • iPad 3G model remains sold-out in the US
  • International iPad sales were delayed nearly a month due to unexpected US demand
According to Apple, the iPad was introduced on May 31 in the UK, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain and Switzerland. The device which combines the mobility of a smartphone with a portable computer is expected to go on sale in 9 more countries in July including Ireland. Analysts estimate that by the end of 2010, worldwide iPad sales could reach nearly 8 million units with the US representing 57% of sales.
