Apple, the iPad was introduced on May 31 in the UK, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain and Switzerland. The device which combines the mobility of a smartphone with a portable computer is expected to go on sale in 9 more countries in July including Ireland. Analysts estimate that by the end of 2010, worldwide iPad sales could reach nearly 8 million units with the US representing 57% of sales.
